UK Member of Parliament for Birmingham Edgbaston, Preet Kaur Gill, today paid obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji (Golden Temple), expressing deep devotion towards the Guru.
Following her visit, she also attended the office of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), where she met with SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, who warmly welcomed Ms Gill and honoured her on behalf of the SGPC with a Siropa (robe of honour) and a golden model of Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Expressing gratitude for the honour, Preet Kaur Gill said she felt privileged and blessed to pay obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib. She described the sacred shrine as a guiding light for all humanity.
She further stated that after becoming an MP, she had come to offer thanks to the Guru and to pray for the well-being of all (Sarbat da Bhala). She also prayed for global peace, expressing hope that current conflicts around the world would ease and that humanity would progress in harmony.
